British Belarus Chamber of Commerce Welcomes Ben Gunn as Security & Compliance Advisor to the Board

In order to give our clients further confidence in the business approach, British Belarus Chamber of Commerce pleased to advertise appointment of Darren Gunn as Security & Compliance Advisor, effective today.

Darren “Ben” Gunn has previously managed a number of risk management and security projects including sensitive public and private sector security in high risk areas. He is currently engaged on a number of assignments both in the UK and abroad. He draws on a professional lifetime’s experience as an operational planner who has delivered many diverse projects around the world under the most exacting of circumstances.

A natural leader, possessing excellent interpersonal skills with experience in planning, implementation and management of complex projects from concept to fruition; Ben has a proven man-management approach to high risk, project management, presenting a professional and enthusiastic approach while under pressure and in varied environments whilst using discretion and diplomacy with client and stakeholders.

His liaison duties in the MoD including 4 years with UK and foreign intelligence and Police agencies has ensured that Ben has a diverse, multi-agency approach to security. His Subject Matter Expertise can be utilised in various roles, making his assignment flexible and responsive to many modern day situations. With 26 years of service with the UK Special Forces, Ben has gained considerable experience in Safety and Security Systems Consulting and Command, Control, Communications and Intelligence (C3I).

In his role as MoD Counter Terrorism Liaison Officer to 43 Police forces, in particular the Metropolitan and City of London Police, Ben was responsible for planning multi-agency International and National Counter Terrorism exercises. As part of this role he was a member of the specialist UK team seconded to the 2004 Athens Olympics who were responsible for the Team GB Olympic Counter Terrorism planning. He has also recently completed engagements with the ODA and LOCOG (London 2012 Olympics). Ben continues to work for the Metropolitan and City of London Police.

Ben is an extremely competent and diligent planner with excellent liaison skills in a multi-stakeholder environment. His diligence, patience and communications skills in his 6 week Counter Terrorism role on and after the 7/7 London bombings received high acclaims (citation for MBE) from his senior officers and peer group. His unique qualifications and ‘ground truth’ knowledge of both physical and technical security capabilities make him an industry recognised leader .

Ben is the Managing Director of Olchon and Associates Ltd, a London centric Asset Protection company.
